Vaz rent boy probe suspended
KEITH VAZ faced calls to resign after a 15-month sleaze investigation was halted last night for “medical reasons”.
The Sunday Mirror exposed how he used rent boys while presiding over prostitution law reform as then Home Affairs Select Committee chair.
The standards commissioner Kathryn Hudson is investigating whether the MP was guilty of a conflict of interest and whether he caused “significant damage” to Parliament’s reputation.
Tory MP Andrew Bridgen yesterday tweeted that if Mr Vaz “is not fit to be held to the standards expected of a parliamentarian, then he’s not fit to be a parliamentarian and we should [expect] a by-election in Leicester East”.
