Digital today, Disc January 8 Director Kathryn Bigelow made waves when she put Keanu Reeves in a wetsuit in surf action thriller, Point Break.

Then she went on to become the only woman to win the best director Oscar, for 2009 Iraq war drama The Hurt Locker. Now she’s back with this nail-biting real life drama featuring British actor John Boyega. The Star Wars star is terrific as a security guard caught up in the devastatin­g 1967 Detroit race riots.

In a movie full of fear, panic and prejudice, Bigelow brings her trademark brand of rapid editing and hand-held camera work to generate heart-stopping tension.
