Tills jingling all the way to £1billion
SHOPPERS are set to blow a record £1billion in an online Christmas Day spree.
Retail experts expect 11 million people to shop online on Monday.
Prof Joshua Bamfield, of the Centre for Retail Research, said: “The day is getting stronger every year for online spending.”
Last year we spent £805million on the 25th.
A record 14 million shoppers are expected to splurge £1.4billion today, with one in three adults visiting a mall, a study by VoucherCodes and the Centre for Retail Research predicted.
And 6.7 million people will leave it all until the last minute, making tomorrow Scary Sunday.
