LIONS ‘REJECTS’ SHOWING TEETH
NEIL HARRIS says Milwall’s band of cast-offs are being driven on to prove they can cut it in the Championship.
The Lions boss is reaping the rewards for handing second chances to a crop of out-of-favour players.
Jed Wallace and George Saville were rescued from big-spending Wolves, while Shaun Hutchinson and Jake Cooper were picked up from Fulham and Reading respectively.
And Harris (below) said: “We show every week my players are on the rise and can compete. They’ve all been at other Championship clubs, and now have a point to prove.
“They’ve come here, they want to strive to be better, and prove people wrong.”
Gary Rowett believes Derby cannot afford any complacency today. The Rams boss said: “There’s never a time when you’ve made a ‘statement’ after a win as you can lose the next couple.
“We have to make sure we follow up victory against Aston Villa and make sure it doesn’t go to waste.”
