Oaf Boris a liability
ALLOWING Boris Johnson to visit Moscow to meet Russia’s hard-bitten Foreign Secretary Sergey Lavrov had predictable results.
Britain’s reputation is once again diminished on the world stage, with Johnson appearing frighteningly out of his depth.
A tangential Johnsonian quip about rising Kettle crisps exports and the remarks about his coat show why this Tory fool isn’t taken seriously in the globe’s capitals.
Sinister Sergey isn’t to be trusted as far as we could throw him, after Russia tried to influence the Brexit referendum to destabilise Britain and the EU, just as it did in the US where Putin favourite Donald Trump is a White House wrecking ball.
We also need to consider Russia’s cyberattacks and interference in Ukraine.
That’s why, with Lavrov being a serious heavyweight, we need a substantial Foreign Secretary – not a shambling oaf laughed out of virtually every country he visits.
