ASMIR: I WILL BEGTODIFFER

- BY DAVID McDONNELL

Bournemouth v West Ham Kick-off 3pm

ASMIR BEGOVIC says Bournemouth’s players will not panic – despite having slipped into the bottom three.

Eddie Howe’s struggling side host West Ham today, having lost their last three Prem games and with their last win coming on November 18.

But Cherries’ keeper Begovic says there is still a collective belief among Bournemouth’s players that they can turn their season around and climb their way to safety.

“We have to pick it up,” said Begovic. “The last 10 days or so have been difficult. We’ve had three very difficult games but we have to move on.

“We’ve got three huge games coming up over the Christmas period which will help shape our season. We’ve got to pick ourselves right up and go again against West Ham.

“We’ve got to stick together and believe in what we try to do, believe in ourselves as a team. We’ve got a couple of big home games coming up so it will be nice to be back home and pick up some points there.

“The main thing is to try to get on a big run of results and pick up some points to move up the table. It’s never nice to be in the relegation zone, but you have to dust yourselves off and go again.

“We had a good run previously to the last couple of weeks and there’s no reason we can’t do it again.

We just have to go again. We need a couple of things to go our way, of course, but we need to keep working and believing in what do – starting on Tuesday.”

After West Ham, the Cherries face Everton and Brighton, with Begovic admitting they must start winning games to haul themselves from danger – starting today. Beogivic said: “We’ll be at home so we’ll take the game to them and try to pick up some points.”
