Shoppers cry foul over ‘off’ Tesco turkey
SHOPPERS accused Tesco of “ruining” Christmas dinner after discovering their turkeys had gone off.
Dozens of customers complained online, with some saying the birds were “rotten and rancid”, or tasted of “bleach”.
Tesco’s turkey crowns and £59 birds from its Finest range were affected.
One customer tweeted: “Thanks @Tesco for selling me a gone-off turkey! An awful meal and 8 sick people!”. Another posted: “We’re sitting waiting on a Chinese. I got refunded for my turkey, but the whole meal was ruined.”
Tesco said: “We have exceptionally high standards so will look to address the small number of complaints. We will get in touch with each customer so we can investigate.”
