They are copping it for telling truth
Once again fire has turned on the police officers who revealed the lies that tumbled like confetti from the mouth of Theresa May’s disgraced best pal Damian Green.
And, yes, if they have breached data protection rules then I suppose they must face consequences.
But let’s have some sense of proportionality.
They are former police officers (one a quite junior one, acting independently), who broke rules to reveal the truth. This is not some major police plot to undermine democracy.
Meanwhile, Green was First Secretary of State and deputy to the Prime Minister and he lied consistently. And still he claims he didn’t view extreme pornography on his computer.
Which may or may not be true. But judging by his recent record, it probably isn’t. He’s a proven liar.
