Mystery of recycle site body probed
POLICE are investigating after a body was discovered at a recycling plant on Christmas Eve.
Officers were last night yet to identify the victim, but ruled out foul play.
More details were expected to be released today, following the find at a site in Houghton-leSpring, Tyne and Wear.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “We are currently investigating after a body was found on December 24 at a recycling site in Houghton.
“A coroner’s report has been prepared and inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances.”
A spokeswoman for the Northumbria force added: “We do not believe there is any third-party involvement in the death.”
