WISE MOVE ON RELIGION

-

Putting an atheist in charge of religious programmes at the BBC is a stroke of genius. As the boss, it will be James Purnell’s task to assemble the best team possible to ensure quality and continuity. Being able to get the best people from all religions without religious or, hopefully, political bias can only be good for the BBC and its audience.

It is no secret that in today’s troubled world religious differences are the source of much conflict.

Anything that can be done to try to bring calmness to the mix should be tried. I believe this could be a very good way to achieve, at least, a little calm. Mike Pagett, Sedlescombe, East Sussex
