Red-card May swerves ban to roar with Tigers
ENGLAND wing Jonny May has escaped a ban after his sending-off for Leicester.
May (left) got his marching orders last Sunday in the 69th minute of the 29-17 defeat to Saracens at Welford Road for two yellow cards.
Both cards were dished out for technical offences – two deliberate knock-ons – and disciplinary chiefs decided the red card was enough punishment. That leaves May free to play in Sunday’s Premiership clash with Exeter as Tigers seek to end a run of five straight defeats.
Bath have been hit with a £60,000 fine by Premiership Rugby for letting Taulupe Faletau play for Wales against South Africa in the autumn.
The December 2 game was outside World Rugby’s autumn international window and clubs are banned from releasing foreign players.
