I begin each day with hot water and lemon to invigorate and rehydrate me.

Drink loads of water. At least two litres a day, and more if you can.

Feel free to drizzle salad and vegetables with a little balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper.

If you decide to swap in or add extra vegetables, make sure it’s not potatoes!

If there’s anything on the plan you really don’t like, or can’t eat for some reason, you can, of course, replace it with a meal from another day or another recipe from the book with a roughly similar number of calories.

There should be no snacking between meals, or the plan won’t work effectivel­y.
