A real tweet to turn off phone

Some of my friends had a digital detox over Christmas.

No internet. No smartphones – except for actually talking to people! What a great idea. I know we all love our phones, but they can distract us from the people we really love and from making face-to-face contact.

Brendan was forgiven though. He was too poorly to go out and chat to anyone.

On Christmas Eve he tweeted, asking everyone to imagine losing the person they most love in the world and then say out loud what they wished they could say to them.

There were tens of thousands of retweets. Better viral than a virus, I say.
