Warnock’s 8th army

CARDIFF may be stuttering, but Neil Warnock is confident a record eighth promotion is still on.

Defeat at Bolton and a first home reverse of the season against Fulham saw the Bluebirds drop out of the automatic places for the first time.

Ahead of the visit by in-form Preston, Warnock said: “I wanted to stay in the game to have a go at that eighth promotion and nothing’s changed.

“It is an opportunity to do something nobody else has done. There are a lot of clubs with more resources, so I will have to do a bit more magic, but that’s the challenge – I thrive on proving people wrong.”
