Bin riddle of body found at waste site
A MAN was discovered dead at a recycling site on Christmas Eve after ending up in a bin on a night out.
Jay McLaren’s family reported him missing after he failed to return home on December 23.
The 28-year-old, from Sunderland, was found in Houghton-le-Spring, six miles from the city centre Arizona and Purple Bar, where he was last seen.
He apparently ended up in a bin collected in the early hours of Sunday.
Northumbria Police are tracing his last movements but there is no suspicion of third party involvement.
Specialist officers are supporting Jay’s family and a spokesman said: “They wish to send a message to stay safe on a night out, particularly as New Year’s Eve approaches.”
