WILDER: IT’S THE BEST YEAR EVER FOR MY BLADES

-

CHRIS WILDER is hoping to see in the New Year with his Sheffield United side as record breakers.

The Blades will set a new club record for the number of league points in a calendar year, if they beat struggling Bolton at Bramall Lane today.

United stormed to the League One title last season to end a six-year exile in the division, stacking up 100 points in a campaign for the first time. So far they have 91 points in 2017, two short of the record set in 1989 when they won backto-back promotions.

“We’ve got one more game, so win that and it will be one of the best years the club has ever had,” said Blades boss Wilder (above). “But I want to kick it on into the New Year. I don’t want us to be one of those teams that starts well and falls away. I want this to carry on.”
