Cats ‘caught in illegal trap’

A CAT that nearly lost a paw and another with a crushed foot were victims of an illegal trap, animal rescuers have said.

A stray named Felix was found with its paw trapped in the spring-loaded jaws of a “gin trap”.

And charity the Celia Hammond Animal Trust said a second cat rescued two weeks ago with “his paw nearly hanging off” may be another victim.

Both animals, found in Canning Town, East London, are recovering.
