IT WON’T END IN BEERS FOR STAR MADINE

BOLTON WANDERERS v HULL CITY Macron Stadium, 3pm

BOLTON goal hero Gary Madine has turned over a new leaf – by turning his back on the booze.

The eight-goal striker has landed in bother through the demon drink, but after his latest match-winner at Sheffield United, the new sober-minded Madine hopes to kick on against Hull at the Macron Stadium today.

After Madine’s winner at Bramall Lane marked Bolton’s first way win of the season, teammate Darren Pratley revealed: “Gaz has gone teetotal. It was his own decision – he didn’t even come to the Christmas do.

“We all reckon his game has improved, too.”

Boss Phil Parkinson, who left Hull after only six months in charge there in 2006, admitted: “It’s a long time ago, so it’s not an issue. But being beaten 4-0 at Hull this season still hurts. We have to put that right.”

Nouha Dicko believes he can score the goals needed to guarantee Championship safety for Hull after a 2-2 draw against Fulham on Saturday.

But Dicko, who was on target against Fulham, may miss today’s crucial relegation clash because of a knee injury.

Manager Nigel Adkins said: ”Nouha was a real thorn in Fulham’s side and gave us an attacking threat, but he was feeling his knee towards the end.”

Dicko is desperate to play today, saying: “We have to go there with a winning mentality.

“I have felt really sharp recently and been a bit unlucky with some of my chances. But I took my chance well against Fulham.”

Hull are two points above the drop zone and Adkins set a target of 10 more wins after watching his side throw away a two-goal lead.

Jarrod Bowen also scored before Fulham hit back in the second-half with two goals from substitute Aboubakar Kamara.
