12 die in Iran as protesters target bases
TWELVE people have been killed as tens of thousands flock to anti-government protests in Iran.
Armed groups have tried to storm police and military bases and hundreds have been arrested.
Iranian state TV said 10 were killed in clashes on Sunday night but it was not known how they died.
And two demonstrators were killed on Saturday.
US President Donald Trump tweeted yesterday: “The Iranian people ... are hungry for food & freedom. TIME FOR CHANGE!”
But President Hassan Rouhani said the protests were a chance for the country to work together to sort its economic woes.
The protests are the biggest since the Green Movement of 2009.
