HOWE SALUTES ‘BEST MAN’ IBE

-

EDDIE HOWE claimed Jordon Ibe has helped turn Bournemouth’s season around after hailing his £15million winger’s best game for the club.

After suffering four straight defeats, the Cherries have picked up five points in three games while scoring seven goals.

Ibe (left) has struggled since arriving from Liverpool in June 2016 for a then club record. But the 22-year-old hit the post and delivered the corners for both Bournemouth goals at Brighton.

Boss Howe said: “I’m so pleased for him because it’s not all been plain sailing for Jordon since he arrived.

“He’s had to deal with a lot of hype and expectation.

“The last three games we have seen him get better and better and better.

“It’s funny – I have said it is his best game three times in a row now. He’s confident, he can run at people and has a lovely technique with both feet.

“How Jordon has not scored in these three games, I don’t know.”

Howe was not so impressed with referee Michael Oliver. “Potentially I think we could have been given four penalties,” he said. “The reality is maybe one probably, but I will have to review it.”
