JANMAAT DESPERATE FOR SILVA LINING NOW

- BY MIKE WALTERS

DARYL JANMAAT sized up Watford’s mission impossible at the Etihad tonight and insisted: “There’s always a way to get a result.”

The Hornets head to runaway leaders Manchester City on a run of nine defeats in their last 13 games and with head coach Marco Silva under pressure for the first time.

Another setback would leave Silva with 10 points from a possible 42 – the same as the tailspin which cost his predecessor Walter Mazzarri his job in May. City have beaten Watford 5-0 and 6-0 in their last two meetings, and if the sequence follows current form Silva’s discomfort will only increase. Dutch defender Janmaat (below) admitted City could go through the season undefeated: “If there’s a team who can do it, it’s them because they show every week they are too strong for every team. “But there’s always a way to find a result – maybe they have a bad day.”
