But the run Watford have been on since the Merseysiders made a play for their manager should serve as a reminder that Silva still has much to do to prove he is the real deal.
Burnley boss Dyche has impressed over a number of years – now Silva needs to lead Watford to the top 10 and repeat it for a couple of years to show us he deserves a crack at the next step.
