The 76-year-old Harry Potter actress has a formidable personality and here she’s taking an epic two-month road trip through the middle of the country, travelling a thousand miles from Chicago to New Orleans, to find out what makes America and Americans tick. And fair play, she’s really getting stuck in with the nation’s inhabitants.
She’s not just meeting the rich and surgically altered, or the Trump voters – all of whom she can’t stand – but the people who live in the projects, the drug dealers, gang members and recent immigrants taking citizenship tests in the hope of having their own crack at the American dream.
