WENGER FACING A STADIUM BAN
ARSENE WENGER’S bust-up with referee Mike Dean could see him hit with a lengthy ban from being at games.
The Arsenal boss confronted Dean on the pitch (above) and in the officials’ room at The Hawthorns after a disputed penalty salvaged a draw for West Brom
and allegedly launched a foul-mouthed tirade and “questioned his integrity”.
The FA could impose a stadium ban because the latest incident comes less than 12 months after Wenger’s four-game touchline suspension for pushing a fourth official in January last year.
There could be further action and a potential fine following a press conference yesterday where Wenger claimed Dean “saw what he wanted to see”.
It is believed Sunday’s confrontation came during a 30 minute postmatch “cooling off” period when managers are not supposed to go into the referee’s room, although they can enter with permission.
Wenger has until 6pm on Friday to respond.
