BARCA: WE HAVE COUTINHO

Brazil ace targeted for a huge Nou Camp move

- BY JOHN CROSS

BARCELONA are confident they will finally get Philippe Coutinho this month.

Liverpool resisted all offers for the Brazil star (left) last summer, but now face a major fight to keep the 25-year-old during the transfer window.

There is a growing feeling in Spain the Nou Camp side will get their man if they make an offer in excess of £130million.

Coutinho missed the

Reds’ win at Burnley on New Year’s Day with a thigh strain and reported for treatment yesterday. The forward is known to want to complete his “dream move” and Liverpool are now facing another transfer saga.

Barca made three bids in the summer – the last totalling £114m after add-ons – but will have to break the British record to get their man.

Doubts over the player’s future increased when Nike – Barca’s kit sponsors – advertised shirts with his name on them. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp (above) dismissed the story on Monday, but the Spanish media are convinced a deal will be done this month.

Coutinho is not expected to play in Liverpool’s FA Cup tie with Everton on Friday night.
