‘Party’ bullet kills boy of 5

A BOY of five died after being hit by a falling bullet as Brazilian gangsters celebrated the New Year by firing guns into the air.

Arthur Bencid Silva was watching fireworks at midnight in the backyard of his house in São Paulo when he fell to the ground.

His parents believed he had fallen and hit his head but a scan later showed a bullet lodged in his skull.

His aunt Rosana Aparecida said the person who fired the fatal shot had “destroyed our family”.
