Chef gets death threats for saying she ‘spiked’ a vegan
DEATH threats against a chef who boasted of “spiking” a vegan with cheese are being investigated by police.
Laura Goodman, 47, said she spent all day on a special menu for vegans and vegetarians then one ordered a pizza with non-vegan mozzarella.
She said on Facebook she “spiked a pious, judgmental vegan”, who had “gone to bed still believing she’s a vegan”. Police called at her Carlini’s restaurant in Albrighton, Shrops, after the threats. Fiance Michael Gale, 62, said: “We now understand in the vegan world saying ‘spiked’ means you’ve put meat in it, which is not the case.” He added: “Our world has been turned upside down with death threats, threats of violence, of lawsuits from around the world.” Shropshire council said it had received complaints and was investigating.
