Risk for me, admits Three Girls cop Maggie

-

THE detective constable who quit Greater Manchester Police, claiming the force failed victims of the Rochdale sex grooming scandal, admits entering CBB is “a risk”. Maggie Oliver was portrayed by

Lesley Sharp in the BBC drama Three Girls, fighting on behalf of abused youngsters.

Yet she could be seen to be cashing in on her “fame” by joining a reality TV show.

Maggie says: “I gave up a career, I didn’t sue, I’ve not been paid for any of it. There is not a day that’s gone past on which I have not thought about the girls, taken them to solicitors, held their hand, given them Christmas presents.

“People can say what they like about what I am doing, but I have to support myself. I’ve bills to pay. I gave up my family home to stand up for what I believed in.

“I know it’s a risk because I don’t know how Big Brother are going to edit.

“If it does go pear-shaped, I’ll go to far-flung places where no one will know me.”
