My button’s bigger than yours, Kim
Trump’s infantile nuclear boast
DONALD Trump raised fears of war with North Korea after a childish taunt that he has a “bigger nuclear button”.
He retaliated after the rogue nation’s dictator Kim Jong-un said in his New Year speech: “The US should know that the button for nuclear weapons is on my table.” The US President tweeted: “Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!”
Representative Jim Himes, of the House Intelligence Committee, was among US critics likening Mr Trump to a “playground bully”.
Despite the clash, South Korea yesterday confirmed the reopening of hotline links with its INITIAL THREAT Mirror yesterday northern foe – raising hopes of their first real talks for two years.
US air strikes on jihadis abroad have soared under Mr Trump, say military analysts. “Counter-terror” missions in Yemen, Somalia, Libya and Pakistan totalled 165 last year, 101 more than in 2016, said The Long War Journal website.
