CARROLL: CONFIDENCE IS BUILDING

- BY NEIL McLEMAN

ANDY CARROLL insists West Ham will not go down this season, following the “massive” win over West Brom.

The striker (right) scored his first two goals this term against the Baggies to lift David Moyes’ side out of the drop zone.

Carroll said: “We know the quality in our dressing room and we’re confident that we will not be going down. We’ll be getting out of it. It is tough down there, but we’ve still got the quality and the confidence in all the lads. “We are on a decent run and the West Brom win was massive.” Carroll had not started a game since November 24 – or scored since April. “It’s been very frustrating,” he added. “I’ve been wanting to get out there and start. “It’s hard when you’re coming on for just the last 20 minutes. And I don’t want to be an impact player coming off the bench.”
