WISDOM IS TARGETING CUP SCARE

- BY JOHN WRAGG

Man Utd v Derby County Tomorrow, 8pm

DERBY defender Andre Wisdom is planning to scare the life out of Manchester United.

The 24-year-old is likely to have a busy FA Cup night as United bid to make up for their shock League Cup defeat against Bristol City.

“I try to scare people, just look at them and make them think, ‘If you take me on then I’m gonna smash you’,” he said. “It usually works. I should have probably been born about 50 years earlier – my type of football would have been more acceptable.”

And having played at United for Liverpool, he knows what to expect.

“We lost 2-1 when I played there,” added Wisdom. “But this is a different type of game, a cup tie, and, hopefully, we can get the win.”

United are a distant second in the Premier League title race and are targeting the FA Cup as their only domestic trophy. And if that means United’s superstars trying to upstage Championship Derby, then Wisdom is ready for them.

Derby are higher in the Championship than Bristol City, sitting behind leaders Wolves.

And Wisdom’s advice to his Rams team-mates: “Don’t let it get to you.

“Big stadium, lots of fans, United, who cares? I don’t want another man running past me or taking me on and showboating. I don’t like that.”
