LOVING MY PANTO DIET

-

Ah, the joys of panto... Christmas may be long gone but I’m still spreading festive cheer daily – oh yes, I am!

I’ve been playing the Fairy Godmother in twice-a-day performances of Cinderella in Bradford since December 16 – and I don’t finish until January 28.

It’s a long run but I have loved it – hard work too as I’ve only had Christmas Day and New Year’s Day off. But I know I shouldn’t grumble as it’s a blessing to do what I do for a living – and I tell myself that every day I’m flying around the stage. It’s also handy for the waistline! I’m losing weight as I’m on my feet all day and night, with little time to snack. My costume has been taken in three times so far, all of which means the panto bubble is rather a nice one to be in. I even have my son Shane starring alongside me and we’re sharing a flat during the run.

Being so busy I’m also having a complete break from current affairs – I’m cut off from what’s happening in the world day to day. And after a year of the most horrific news, that’s a rather nice sparkly place to be.
