ROCKET THREAT TO SNUB CRUCIBLE
RONNIE O’SULLIVAN has again threatened to snub this year’s World Championship – branding the tournament “boring”.
The Rocket (right) has won it five times, but previously hinted he may miss this year’s Crucible extravaganza.
O’Sullivan, 42, insisted at the Northern Ireland Open last year that a second series of pool-playing documentary Hustle was earmarked for the spring. With O’Sullivan as presenter, the first series took him around the USA, with Australia a probable second destination.
And the sport’s biggest box-office star, in superb form recently, has criticised the 17-day Sheffield showpiece, saying on Twitter: “Crucible goes on too long and it’s my least favourite event of all. Hustle is a right laugh, Crucible is boring – plus I have ticked that box five times.” O’Sullivan has also threatened not to defend his UK Championship crown in November to go on the I’m A Celebrity reality TV show.
