One of the many highlights of the festive TV for me was Alan Carr hosting a one-off edition of the The Price is Right on Channel 4. He was a natural for presenting this old-style game show with his w wit and banter. It was great to see the delight on the contestants’ faces – could Channel 4 please bring it back permanently? This year, even with the all the Santa films, plus The Wizard of Oz and Mrs Doubtfire to name just a few, TV bosses seemed to have listened to viewers’ complaints about repeats, because we had a great mix of old and new films and programmes.
