MACK STAGING A REVIVAL?

-

Theatre supremo Sir Cameron Mackintosh is banking on new show Hamilton proving a hit after missing out on a bumper payout.

The impresario’s firm is co-producing the musical of America’s founding father, Alexander Hamilton, which has had rave reviews from critics during previews in London.

It came as accounts for Cameron Mackintosh Limited revealed revenues fell from £146.7million to £132.5m in the year to March 31st last year, after the closure of shows Miss Saigon in London and Les Miserables on Broadway and Australia. Profits dropped from £27.8m to £23.2m. It meant Sir Cameron, 71, didn’t receive any dividend from the firm in 2017, having paid himself a huge £35m windfall the prior year.
