2-yr ban for drink-driver in Fast & Furious house smash
A DRIVER three times the drink limit, who smashed into a couple’s house as they watched a Fast and the Furious film, has been banned for two years.
John Canvin, 24, who had downed five pints of beer and three brandies in a nearby pub, was found staggering in the garden and told Jon Hobbs and Jen Harrison: “I am really sorry. I’ve f***ed up.”
At Bodmin magistrates, Cornwall, Canvin, of Saltash, admitted drink-driving and was fined £830.
The house he rammed on December 17 was declared unsafe but his insurance will cover repairs, the court heard.
Magistrate Fiona Roberts noted his remorse, saying: “There’s no doubt you are utterly mortified.”
Jen, 35, of Saltash, said at the time: “We heard a really loud bang, like thunder and the wall started cracking. It felt like an earthquake.” SCARY Car hit house
