Our passport to a grim future

Lucky me – I was in Italy for the dawn of 2018. New Year’s Day is my birthday and I’d go to the ends of the Earth to avoid it altogether if I could. I dislike birthdays. Anyhow, arriving in Italy it was a birthday treat to still be able to relish the expediency of the EU passport control queue. The non-EU queue was long and slow. The immigration officials unsmiling and suspicious. A grim taste of things to come whenever we venture across the channel come 2019. Well done, Leavers.
