ROY HODGSON said he would be interested in signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek on a permanent deal. The England midfielder (below) is on a season-long loan from Chelsea, who signed Ross Barkley from Everton last night. “I’m certain the way Ruben has been playing for us, he is a player we would like to have at our club,” said the Eagles boss. “I’m sure if he were ever up for sale, we would be in there with our hands up as a buyer.” Brighton chief Chris Hughton is desperate to hang on to Lewis Dunk, with the defender linked with a move to West Ham. He said: “Lewis has been magnificent and we have an owner and chairman who have resisted temptation.”
