WENGER WANTS THEO TO RESIST SAINTS BID

ARSENE WENGER has admitted he knows that Southampton want to re-sign Theo Walcott – but he has urged the Arsenal forward to stay.

Walcott, 28, (right) joined the Gunners from the Saints in 2006 and Emirates boss Wenger said: “I heard that, yes. But I want him to stay.” And Wenger also confirmed that new £2million defender Konstantinos Mavropanos, 20, will go straight out on loan – with German club Werder Bremen keen.
