Gary gets a grin out of Grumpy

GARY ROWETT is working his magic at Derby – and anyone who can get Jose Mourinho to smile must have some stardust.

Mourinho’s been grumpy for weeks, but Rowett (below) managed to get the po-faced Portuguese coach to break into a grin as they exchanged greetings.

The pair had a warm embrace and chat but once the action took over Mourinho reverted to type until late goals from Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku.

Rowett is one of the brightest tracksuit managers around.

He’s got his players organised, motivated and full of belief.

This season is all about promotion for the Rams.

After seven managers in 10 years before his arrival last March, owner Mel Morris believes he’s found the real deal. Derby’s big fear is losing Rowett if they don’t go up in May.
