Crumbs, Candice slips up
Candice leaves fans cold with kiss
DANCING on Ice star Candice Brown slipped up by kissing her partner full on the lips after d-icing with death in a daring routine.
While Holly Willoughby looked sensational in a billowing blue gown, Bake Off winner Candice, 33, thought her dance with Matt Evers, 41, was a beauty that deserved a smacker. But they got one of the lowest scores of the night – 13 – and were voted into the skate-off. Candice said: “I was nervous. It’s the first time I’ve done anything like that.” Coronation Street star Antony Cotton, 42, also left viewers cold with a lewd routine that ended in him pulling at Brandee Malto’s costume and peering down her cleavage. It was branded “totally inappropriate” by some viewers.
There were also complaints online about the new voiceover man, ITV racing’s Matt Chapman, the replacement for Tony Gubba, who died in 2013. Teresa Drury said: “Really disappointing commentator, spoiling it for me, fast forward time.”
Gillian Glen agreed: “Can the original voiceover guy please return to Dancing on Ice ASAP though? This commentator is really winding me up.”
Hannah James said: “This voiceover guy is making me wanna turn this off. Shut. Up.” And Nicky Barrowclough moaned: “Did the commentary guy just get pulled off from the street and get given a head set? He’s so cringe.”
Host Phillip Schofield also got fired up, taking on acid-tongued judge Jason Gardiner when he told off Holly.
When Gardiner snapped at Holly, Schofield retorted: “Don’t you snap at my girl. Don’t you snap at her.”
Holly’s dress was the biggest hit of the night. Fan Erin Curtis posted online: “Holly’s dress is absolutely beautiful.”
Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Waring , 39, burst into tears during rehearsals ahead of last night’s show after repeatedly falling.
One show insider revealed: “She cried after the dress rehearsal on Friday. Poor Steph, it’s not that she’s bad, but she is struggling with her confidence.”
One fan gave their verdict on the show, posting: “Pleased it’s back but it’s coming across very cheap; the set, the interviews, the sound quality, the voiceover booth. It’s like some kids party at the local rink.”
