‘Buy 1 get 1 free’ crack dealer jailed 3yrs
A CRACK cocaine and heroin dealer who bombarded addicts with buy-one-get-one-free offers for a month has been jailed for three years.
When Martin Gardener, 35, was arrested police seized two phones and found large numbers of messages offering “special promotions” on “multiple wraps” of the highly addictive class A drugs.
He sent messages every day to his customers, officers said.
Gardener, of Harlow, Essex, was sentenced at Chelmsford crown court after admitting two counts of supplying class A drugs. Sgt James Paget, of Essex Police, said: “The analysis of the phones found on Gardener shows the absolute cynical depths drug dealers will plumb to.
“They prey on addicts, exploiting the vulnerability their habit gives them, to continue to ply them with drugs.
“In this case Gardener was proactively messaging addicts every day for an entire month.
“We will not tolerate this and will continue to hunt down these ruthless dealers.”
