‘Man strangled by boss and left naked in shallow grave’
A MAN died after being found naked and groaning in a shallow grave after his boss strangled him, a court heard.
Richard Spottiswood, 34, allegedly attacked Darren Bonner, 24, after a row at Cresswell Towers caravan park, Northumberland, and dropped him in a grave he dug in woodland.

court his then girlfriend Lucy Burn, 29, assisted him in “covering up” the crime. A dog walker heard the groans of Mr Bonner, who worked at Spottiswood’s garage. Mr Roberts said he was in an “open shallow grave”, adding: “He was moaning and shivering.” Mr Bonner, of Sunderland, died 16 days later. Spottiswood, of Jarrow, and Burn, of South Shields, both Tyne and Wear, deny murder. The trial goes on.
