Ed-banger Noppert on the march

DANNY NOPPERT cruised into round two of the BDO World Championship at Frimley Green by wiping out Richie Edwards.

Dutchman Noppert, last year’s runner-up, had to come through the preliminary round but nailed Welshman Edwards 3-0.

Now he faces England’s Mark McGeeney, the second seed.

England’s Daniel Day secured a 3-0 win over Craig Caldwell, of New Zealand, in the Lakeside prelims and will tackle Wales’ Martin Phillips next.
