Lemar bid must start at £90m
LIVERPOOL and Arsenal will have to splash out at least £90million to land Thomas Lemar from Monaco.
The French champions accepted a £90m offer from Arsenal on transfer deadline day, only for Lemar to turn down a move to the Emirates. Monaco insist that this must be the starting point for any new negotiations for their exciting France attacker.
They have seen Liverpool prise another £30m out of Barcelona this month for Philippe Coutinho and feel the much-coveted Lemar’s value has also risen.
That tough stance could deter Liverpool, who are adamant they will not be held to ransom because they have sold Coutinho for a club record £145m.
Arsenal want Lemar to replace Alexis Sanchez and pulled the plug on the Chilean’s £60m sale to Manchester City when the 22-year-old turned them down on deadline day.
