Around 250 IT workers at Marks & Spencer are to move to an outside firm to slash costs. The staff – more than half those employed in the IT department – will transfer to industry giant Tata Consulting Services. It is part of plans by M&S, which is expected to announce another drop in clothing sales tomorrow, to save around £30million a year by 2021/22.

Embattled department store Debenhams faces a shareholde­r revolt over fat cat pay. Investor lobby group PIRC has urged shareholde­rs to vote against the store’s pay plans at its AGM tomorrow. PIRC slammed a £445,000 golden hello for new boss Sergio Bucher when he joined, plus a 12% pay rise, when staff got 4.7%. Debenhams revealed a fall in festive sales last week.

Fantasy miniatures maker Games Workshop saw sales rocket 54% to £109million in the six months to the end of November, with profits up sharply to £38.8m.
