‘Sexist’ Young quit hours after May supported him
UNIVERSITIES tsar Toby Young finally quit yesterday less than 48 hours after Theresa May defended him on TV.
Mr Young bowed to pressure after calls for him to be sacked over sexist tweets. He said: “Some of the things I said before I got involved in education, when I was a journalistic provocateur, were either ill-judged or just plain wrong and I unreservedly apologise.” Shadow Women and Equalities Minister Dawn Butler said the affair further exposed the PM’s “total lack of judgment”.
