CHRIS FROOME is still “available for selection” for Great Britain despite his fight to avoid a doping ban.
Chief executive Julie Harrington claimed the four-time Tour de France champion could be picked for September’s World Championships, even if his case remains open.
Froome returned a urine sample at the Vuelta a Espana in September containing twice the allowed concentration of asthma drug salbutamol.
The Team Sky star, 32, maintains his innocence but faces a minimum six-month ban. Harrington said: “Chris is available. It’s innocent until proven guilty.”
