HOME and Away star Jessica Falkholt’s life support has been turned off after the Boxing Day crash that killed her parents and sister.

The actress – Hope Morrison for 16 episodes in 2016 – was in an induced coma following operations to remove a kidney and part of her skull.

Relatives prayed she would recover.

But yesterday, the day after the funeral of father Lars, mother Vivian and sister Annabelle, 21, they asked for life support to be ended.

The 28-year-old was unaware her family had been wiped out as they returned to their home in Sydney, Australia, from a Christmas break.

Their car burst into flames after the head-on crash on the Princes Highway on the New South Wales coast. The other vehicle, said to be on the wrong side of the road, was driven by Craig Whitall, 50, who also died.

He reportedly had more than 60 convictions – at least 10 for driving – and was once banned for nine years.

Lars, 69, and Vivian, 60, were trapped in the blazing vehicle and identified from dental records. Jessica and Annabelle were dragged out by passers-by and flown to hospital where Annabelle died three days later.

At the funeral, her uncle Paul Ponticello said: “Their lives ending on a highway makes no sense. We take comfort that they are together and always will be.” Falkholt’s stint on Home and Away ended in November 2016.

She then filmed a leading role in the US movie Harmony which is set for release later this year.
