Sam signs on as show’s voice

FOOTBALL commentator Sam Matterface is the new voice of Dancing on Ice.

The TalkSport star takes over from Matt Chapman, who was axed after a week following an online outcry by fans about his abrupt voiceovers and cheesy one-liners.

A source said: “Sam is a less controversial character than

ROLE Radio’s Matterface Matt and hopefully he will be a bigger hit with the viewers. It’s great he has agreed to come in at such short notice.” Matt left on Thursday just days after vowing to win the audience over. His agent Peter Burrell said: “We are surprised by the decision but we move on.” Despite his unpopularity, the show was still a ratings success.
